The Fighting Pits are a long-standing tradition in Selwyn. Most people in the city attend the big fights as there isn't much other entertainment on the island. They are run by the Goliath, former-fighter Phillip who made his fortune in the pits and used that fortune to save the pits from closing down. He then rejuvenated the culture around the fighting pits and brought the crowds back.

Format[edit | edit source]

The fights consist of 4v4 matches between two teams. If a full-team of four can't be made, there is a matchmaking pool where solo or duo fighters can be grouped together to make full teams.

There are 5 different Tiers in the Fighting Pits. To move up a tier, you must have defeated every other team in that tier. In general, Tier 1 is for levels 1 to 3, Tier 2 is for levels 4 to 6, Tier 3 is for levels 7 to 9, Tier 4 is for levels 10 to 12, and Tier 5 is for levels 13 and up. If the party joins the pits early, they'll likely have to take breaks until they level appropriately for the next tier.

A team is also moved down a tier of they lose to every other team in the tier and then must complete the previous tier again to move up.

The reward for each fight depends on the Tier. Losing a fight always nets 1/4 the winnings of a fight of that tier. There is also a bonus for completing a tier.
